The human body seems to be quite symmetrical, right?
We have a lot of redundancy because of that. Have you ever noticed that we have two lungs, but we never use the full capacity of both of them? I have because I was a runner in high school and college. I used peak capacity early and often as I had to win races. But most people don't, they use a third of their capacity. that's why everyone is so out of shape. Now, I'd like to talk to you about a breathing exercise I've been doing, and I'm not sure if it helped or not, but when you're a high-performance athlete, it's amazing how much control you have. over your own body.
Well, what I was doing was training to breathe into only one lung. Of course, you can't close the breathing tube because there is no valve for that to allow you to breathe and let air in and out from only one side. Yet, if you try hard, you'll notice that you can develop muscles in your body that will help you control where you spend most of that air. People who have a collapsed lung, meaning they only have one lung left to breathe, can use the remaining lung to meet all their needs, they will produce enough oxygen as long as they don't go outside and try to run a mile.
When doing this exercise, it is interesting that after a while you feel how all the air goes to one side and only a little to the other. It is possible to master it, although most people cannot because they have never done this type of breathing exercise, I would encourage you to try it. It won't hurt you, it might help you. Can my body do things others can't? I've done that in sports, but when it comes to exercise like this, you're using new ways of doing things, new methods, and developing new muscles.
Better lungs mean more oxygen in your bloodstream, better cardiovascular health, along with greater ability in everything you do. you should try this exercise, focusing on filling only one lung at a time and then switching sides, and then going back again.
If you do this for five or 10 minutes a day, while you're at work, you'll find a new way to control your body that you didn't even know you had. There are no research reports on this, I looked. But it's interesting. I hope you consider all this and think about it.
